It's not just the TS community. It's the entire human race that makes jokes out of sad things like this. Or, maybe it's just people putting on a front on the internetz.

Wow, some members here are just so damn shallow. Have some empathy for Christ sakes. RIP MJ. I will always love you and forever be a fan. Today, music died.

I think most people on this board are too young to appreciate Michael Jackson. Hence all the callous jokes.

In my opinion, his death isn't any more or less important than anyone else's death, as we are all human and we will all eventually die. But disrespecting a person after they've passed away is low, immature, and frankly appallingly vile. I'm disappointed in many of you.

I was honestly shocked when I learned about MJ's death after coming home from dinner with some friends yesterday evening. I grew up listening to his music and watching his performances. Even though I can't really remember when the last time I picked up and listened to one of his albums was (probably a few months after the release of HIStory), I do have a weird feeling inside.

To me, he changed and influenced so many aspects of people's lives around the world, including mine. Not only through his music and vocals, but also his inventions such as the Moon Walk, the patented anti-gravity lean shoes, all his unique dance moves, and a lot more. His song 'JAM,' among all the hits, impresses me the most.

I feel like I'll probably be listening to just his music for a while... He is undoubtedly a true legend.

his death is important in society. He changed the world! He changed the way people look at music today. People don't realize how much of an effect he had on the music industry. I am young like many people on here, but I do appreciate him very much. He inspires many artists today. Some people are so stupid to make a joke out of the death of someone who made such an impact on the world.

I think it's ****ed up that people can't appreciate what he did and sit there and talk about how he apparently was a child molester (never convicted), was once black, and was on drugs. People act like he's the only person in Hollywood that had issues when actually, a lot of people in Hollywood don't have their heads on straight.

He was the man. Could dance like no other. It's just sad. Apparently his rehearsals for the upcoming tour he was going to do were going very well.

Oh there's no doubt that I fully appreciate his impact on our culture and what we have as music today. He's a fantastic artist and deserves the respect he's earned.

Really it's these heartless jokes that are getting my blood boiling. And it's not because their jokes on Michael Jackson. It's because they're jokes at the expense of a person who has recently passed away. It's disgusting.

I didn't like any of his music and I didn't really care for him as a person, so why would I be sad he died? I don't believe in being sad over the death of a person that not only did I not know personally, but also someone who I did not like anything he did in his life.

I disagree. He's entitled to his opinion. It's fine if he doesn't approve of what Michael has accomplished in his life or like him as a person (although having never met him, I'm not sure how you can determine that you wouldn't like him as a person). But if these are his feelings, then his posting in this thread is unnecessary.

Even if you don't like him, you should respect the fact that he has had quite an impact, but more importantly you should respect the fact that he has now passed and not speak unnecessarily cruelly of him.

Or maybe it's cool to do all that cause you're a cool dude on the internet.

If you spend time mourning ever person in this world that dies then you are going to end up having a very sad and emotionally distraught life...

Seriously, you bawwing over Michael Jackson dying helps no one.

What happens if you don't spend time mourning anyone? That could lead to a pretty pitiful life.
