oh my god, I cannot believe those ads.

Those tv ones? They make me laugh. The forklift one I think was okay, but the girl falling into the jewelry was ridiculous, and come on, she has jewelry sticking out of her skin or something. I don't remember, but it was funny, like a slasher flick. And the pot of boiling water: Nobody effing falls like that. She would just drop it, not fling it up in the air. It was shocking at first, but when I realized how lame it was, it became... well, hilarious as well!

Well the one I couldn't stomach was the girl getting burnt by scalding oil, I work in the restaurant industry, and I've seen bad stuff, just not like that. I physically shivered and got goosepimples. And people do fall and spill stuff on themselves just like that, Ive seen it, a slippery floor in a kitchen is a death wish.

The thing is--excepting SwassMike's input for a moment--is that it wouldn't even be a matter of instinct. That's a big, heavy pot, so I really think the girl would have just let it slip or something. It should've gone straight to the ground in front of her. Also, she shouldn't have flown up and back like that. I mean, watch it again and you can tell just how fake it is; weak editing.

I mean, Mike, I don't know what you've seen, but the physics just don't look even close to being right in that clip. I really think that would have gone differently. Of course, it still would have probably been quite a bad experience.

Obviously it's over-dramatized, however it is very possible to slip and spill the contents of the pot on yourself with dramatic and devastating outcomes. Their approach was to visually explain the gravitas of the danger in this situation, however I do agree with TNF in that they overdid it.
