My whole life I have spent some time at the summer at our beach house. Being a kayaker, and snowboarder, I also really enjoy the mountains. Most of the time I end up traveling to some random area, hiking in and camping at the river. (Most are remote).

That said, where would you rather have a vacation house? The Beach, Mountains or Other?

Totally mountains. I've dreamed of one day being able to build my own house near or on Lake Tahoe.

It's absolutely gorgeous anywhere in the Sierra Nevadas.

I absolutley LOVE the beach, its actually always been a dream of mine to be able to wake-up to the rising of the sun and be able to smell the sea as i walk out on my balcony and feel the breeze on my skin. so need-less to say its definetley the beach for my vacation house!

It depends on where. I don't really like beaches that much, but if I had to choose between

(A) a rocky coast with a high tidal range in a chilly climate
(B) mountains

I'd pick the coast, hands down.

Mountains **** Yahh.

The nice thing about mountains is you have things to do year round as opposed to the beach where you only have things during the summer. Typically a Mountain house is also cheaper.

I hate saltwater and the ocean. I would prefer somewhere with a giant pool.

(Lakes are freshwater...)

definitely the beach. i wouldn't mind owning a vaca home in europe either
