Default Fish Tanks

I've got an old fish tank from 1998. It still looks good but the lamp conked out. (Not the fuse and not the bulb, I've replaced both to no avail). Two questions here...

1. How much would it be to get a new lamp for a 10 gallon tank?

2. If I wanted to get a new aquarium, is there any 10 gallon you recommend over another? I know they have those taller tanks with built-in filters that take up less room, I was thinking of maybe getting one of those, are they any good?

3. Any good sponge for cleaning white-suited plastic diver guys?

I love fish tanks but they are a lot of work. But when properly done, they are in impressive.

I used to have a 10 gallon setup about a year ago but I took it down after I moved. I still have the tank sitting in the back of my closet though. I've been thinking of setting up another mush smaller tank, like a gallon with a few small fish, shrimp, and plants. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

1. I don't think it would cost much to get a new lamp. I say check online at PetCo or your local fish store.

2. I used to know some of the tank brands.....all I can remember is Eclipse and they make sleek and compact tanks.

3. Use a toothbrush?

Also, I used to refer to this site a lot for choosing fish and plants. They have articles as well. Age of Aquariums - Tropical Fish / A Era de Aquarios - Peixes Ornamentais

I'll try the toothbrush and should be able to get to PetSmart this week.

Speaking of aquariums, ever see those ones they make out of the old-school Mac computers? They call them "Mac Quarium" and they make a good use for those old Macs that you used to play Oregon Trail on if they've died. (They are a lot of work to make though--I even have a dead Mac I could use to make one but don't have the time for it).

I've never heard of the Mac ones specifically, but I have heard of people converting their old monitors into aquaria. That would make a nice tank though if you could figure it out.

It must be hard to make an old monitor water-sealed with all the ventilation holes on it.
