Good question, I've been considering applying for an overnight job this summer. Just for a second job (a little extra cash)...and it sounds like a good time. I already have a (much better paying) job, so impact/rep wouldn't work. Also, does anyone know if you work everynight or if your on a schedule like reps are?

the other day a manager came up to me and said "do you work here" and i said "um..no..." he said "would you like too" and i said "yeah i was already recruited once and i signed the papers but i never got a call" and he said "fill out the application and come to a interview on tuesday" so i did and i got the call back the day after the interview.
so i have orientation sunday and i must say im excited...

If you ask apply for a job at Hollister(like not get recruited) is it more likely that you will be put as impact instead of brand rep/model?...cause I would sooo much rather be a model(me and everyone else who applies).
Also, do you think it would be easier to get a job at abercrombie kids, because one just opened literally last month at my mall, so do you think they'd be in need of more employees than the hollister in the same mall that's been open for at least a year? And last question(i have a lot), what kind of things are you NOT allowed to wear while working at hollister/anf kids, because i don't really like hollister jeams that much, would they kill you if you wore anf/ruhel jeans(or any other designer--like really nice jeans tho, true religion/sevens/citizens/rock+republic/etc)...i would think it would be better to stick with anf...but is not wearing hollister jeans an issue(as long as you wear everything else hollister)??? |

asking has nothing to do with it. they'll probably forget who you are anyway and someone else will most likely do the interview. and maybe or maybe not. hco is probably sending kids over and if you have a fitch in the mall they'll do the same plus there'll be transfers in the company. but yeah they will be looking for people no matter what but the standards shouldnt be any lower. anytime anyone has worn hollister jeans to my store EVERYONE has mentioned it. the rule of thumb is it shouldnt be noticeable. true religions will probably get you sent home. i havent had the courage to wear sevens or ruehl jeans and i dont buy hco jeans so i've kept it to af jeans. oh and i work at af btw. just buy a few pairs of jeans from there. their cheap with the discount and you'll probably work one or two shifts anyway.

I'm pretty sure if you work at Hollister you can wear A&F (but the rule is NOT reversible). Or at least that's one a few brand reps. used to ALWAYS do at my mall (I see A&F jeans A LOT and occasionally, on one rep. especially, A&F tees while he's behind the register).

Technically, working at A&F or HCO...you can wear ANY brand you want so long as there's no visible logo and it looks "A&F" or "HCO". Jeans don't matter (just not TR or anything like that) the brand because they're just jeans, but it's definitely preferable to wear HCO jeans if you work there. You cannot wear A&F at HCO if it has a moose or says A&F or anything. |

I've worked for the company for 2.5 years. What I'm saying is 100% correct. If you murder someone but no one is there to see it, does that mean it's not against the law? Some managers are shitty and don't care about much of anything. Mike Jeffries can't be everywhere at once so it's up to the managers to enforce everything and sometimes they don't. Yes those models are breaking the rules.

I just recently started working @ Hollister.
Now on the first day of work, I saw my co-manager wearing A&F shirts. So a&f is allowed, in our store anyways. As long as it looks hollister... it should be fine. As long as the moose logo doesnt cover the whole entire shirt. 2.5 yrs is alot of working experience, but i donno... each hollisters are managed differently I suppose. |

its plain and simple. managers basically have no choices. the company tells you how to run the store, what to look for, what people can and cannot wear, and where to put things. managers basically enforce the rules, the company would never leave something like this up to someones discretion because some managers just dont care. if i came in decked out in hollister i'd get sent home. your store probably doesnt care but if a dm walks in or even worse.. an rm or heck, even a recruiter they'll probably get it. especially if the person is greeting or anywhere near the front. not aimed at anyone here but i dont see why people in general have such a hard time wearing the brand. at my store we buy a few AAA outfits and wear those so at least the people in the store are wearing the current look. sure we'll wear older things or other things from the season too but it isnt too hard.

And I wear Sevens and Citizens on a regular basis at work, too. None of my managers said anything about the squiggle or h on my jeans. Last edited by nthach; 04-11-2007 at 04:34 AM. |

You're WRONG! You are NOT TECHNICALLY allowed to wear anything with any logo other than that of HCO. But AGAIN it is (as everything is) the managers decision to enforce that rule.
