To all who have given me advice: Tomorrow, I am planning on going to Gilly to buy a couple of bras- which ones, I haven't decided. I will fill you guys in on my experiences when I get back. Thanks to everyone who offered their opinions!

Hello all!

Well, I went to Gilly today and bought the Sloane bra and another of the Blake bras. Julie, you were right! The Sloane feels so soft and sexy, and it fits as close to perfectly as any bra I've ever had- I tried it on and haven't taken it off yet- it's that comfortable!

The Blake is wonderful as well- my only complaint is that it doesn't have a lot of padding, but it does wonders for my shape nevertheless.

I decided to pass on the Zoe for now, but I might buy it later this summer. I'm also intrigued by the Heather and the Jordan. Stay tuned.

Me again. Check out the "Your latest Gilly Hicks purchase" thread for pics of my new bras. Question: do the downundies at Gilly run small? I almost bought a pair of bikinis yesterday, but they looked like they might be too small even though they were labeled as L. Any thoughts?

After taking my girlfriend shopping there a bunch of times and talking to other customers in the store, their stuff does seem to run quite a bit smaller. I'm no expert on girl's underwear, but certain things look smaller too but are just cut weird.

True; the way many panties are cut makes them appear smaller than they actually are. I will explain in a bit more detail: When I buy a pair of panties from VS, I know that an L is going to fit me. This isn't always true with other brands, and I don't want to drop $11+ on panties that are labeled as L and wind up not fitting right.

Any thoughts from some ladies?

yes actually, im thinking about getting a new bra from gilly when i go there in a few weeks. how is the blake? i havent tried it, but it looks like it might fit nicely. my biggest problem with the gilly bras is that they either have too little padding or not enough oomph.

The Blake is great! It fits wonderfully and it feels nice too! Definitely try that on. Clarify something for me, though: I get what you mean about not enough padding, but when you say that Gilly bras don't have enough oomph, are you saying that they don't give you as much cleavage as you'd like? BTW, check out the Sloane if you want a great padded push-up bra- it gives me some great curves (and I actually don't care that much about "oomph", but that is nice every so often); as a bonus, it's strapless but you get straps with it. I haven't worn my Sloane with the straps yet, however. Let me reword my question to you in my previous post, though: do you, ghcastleragh, recommend any other bras besides the Blake or the Sloane?

wellllll, i went to gilly today, and left the store with nada. i didn't get as much time as i would have liked to try stuff on, only about 20 mins, which was probably half the prob...but anyway, i found that generally my normal bra size seemed somehow...too small? skimpy? it was strange. all the bras i tried on were very beautiful, smooth and comfortable, but either did nothing for my shape or simply looked somehow...too tiny for my frame. like, thinthin straps, small cups, etc. etc. not like they didn't fit, just that they lacked the usual fabric in certain essential areas or jsut had a different shape than other bras. i have no idea. i tried on molly, abby, sloane, and some navy athletic looking one that had a white band (it was soooo comfy but just...not flattering). anyone else have this problem? maybe a "fuller coverage" bra would be a better idea....but i was disappointed because i love how they look from the back and side. or maybe i should size up - did anyone else have to do that? i have NOT grown in that respect recently so im at a loss.

what i meant by saying there wasnt enough padding/doesnt give me enough oomph is that the gilly bras dont seem to give me enough cleavage as id like. im just barely a 34B and tend to be a bit self conscious...what im actually looking for in a bra is a good push up, so maybe i will end up trying the sloane. the bra from gilly that i have now feels great and is super comfortable but it does nothing for my shape. i cant remember the name of it though because i got it 4 months ago ):

Okay. Gotta agree with you about being a bit self-conscious. I'm a 38B, so when I go out, I definitely want a good push-up, and the Sloane does that wonderfully. I still think the best bra for cleavage is the Very Sexy from VS, but the Sloane is awesome in that department as well. Maybe I'll buy another one.... Like I said before, try the Blake. Even if it doesn't give you the cleavage you want, it's still a great everyday bra.

No argument here. Those undies are so cute, and I love the colors- so pretty and girly!
