I dont think so either all the other brands such as HCO, Abercrombie's and Ruehl all have mens boxers and undershirts. I dont think Gilly will sell Men's anytime soon. It would be nice though even if it was just on their online store next year you know.

I actually think they'll sell Men's sooner or later...after they realize they won't be able to sustain a successful company without widening their target buyer. I personally think it would be really smart for GH to create an extensive men's line...just some briefs, boxers, boxer briefs, tank tops, and shirts...so they'd be able to do something no other similar clothing line would be able to do.
Similarly, I thought GAP Body was strictly women's, but I actually have a couple pairs of boxer briefs from there. Not quite an extensive array of men's clothing, but I think it's a step towards future evolution in the company. |

Well they ARE phasing out mens' underwear in HCO and significantly cut it down in A&F and little a...
I wouldn't mind GH for understuff, hoodie tees, pajamas, and maybe cologne... A few exclusive items like tanks could work. Most of the sales would probably be girlfriends finding something for their significant other though. |

I don't think any guy would dare be caught in GH...... anyways "underwear" in retail provides very little margins of profit.... also the fact that Mens sales accounts for around 25% across all the brands. It really makes no sense for them.
Plus Isn't the store overly femy? |

I really doubt that they will ever have stuff for men, and if they did they would have to have another name for the guys stuff, I wouldn't wear something that said Gilly Hicks or something that has a koala. Aerie had mens boxers from AE and cologne but it wasn't selling even though they were down to 6 bucks.

People will be asking...what does GH have, that VS doesn't have? And with addition of a men's line...there you go. |

I don't think a mens line would be horrible, but I think they'd have to cancel the ones in the other concepts first. I think it could catch on, I see plenty of guys without any girls walking through the store, so if they had mens stuff it would be seen and the word would get out. Not everything there has a Koala on it, and they had the same girls shorts that A&F had with the guys underwear waistband on it, only it said Gilly Hicks, so mens underwear with the same waistband wouldn't look feminine.
I also really don't think that the name Gilly Hicks is sononymous with femininity yet. Most people don't have any clue what it is yet; hence why so many guys are still checking it out. If they put a mens line in before they opened too many more stores, then I think the perception could change. Although the store theme and decoration is obviously very feminie, the blown up pictures of nearly naked men hasn't scarred male shoppers away from A&F or Ruehl yet... |

My guy loves going in stores like that with me actually because he knows I let him basically pick everything out that he would like on me. But thats the relationship we have that not many people have. But I think that more and more men will go in there because its very large and private on the most part not like HCO and other places packed as hell and every one is looking at you and what you are buying. The store s femy yes, but its very casual to the point that men shouldnt mind going in there. Yes it has flowers and nude photos of men but its dark and warm in there. |
