Haha, I know what you mean...some people here in Minnesota call sweatshirts 'sweaters', too. It's usually the elderly that do so.

sweaters = traditional sweaters. aka crewneck knit sweater its like how ppl call their automobile a car- even if its a suv. same difference when used in everyday conversation. |

well my sister goes to columbia in chicago and I'm from MI so its not a great distance. If figure while I visit her I can catch a ride to see Gilly Hicks (and hopefully pick up some cute new clothes/underwear) since I dont know when the next time I'm going to be in the vicinity of one. Hopefully one will one in Texas by the time I move out there in May/June!

Okay, for starters, they don't plan for a thousand. They want 800, by 2010. Next of all, if you're JUST now getting a Hollister, I wouldn't bet on a Gilly Hicks for a while. [If no one has cleared up either of those.]
And let me tell you, I went to the one in Mall of America today, and it's nice. Pretty dark I would say, but still. At first it's kinda like an upscale whorehouse kind of feeling, but I like their stuff. I got a lot of tees and a few bras. They're all really nice. I didn't see any guy's stuff at this one, but I don't know if that's just because they have yet to build onto it. When I first saw it advertized a few months ago, it had a large section blocked off, but there was only half of it used when I went today, and the rest was still blocked off, so I'm thinking it might end up being two different stores, with maybe a link inbetween. Here's another thing I will say, even though it might be out of your way, how cool would it be when you're wearing stuff that very few [if any] people you know had it? Honestly. And you guys never know, this could make it. I mean, look at American Eagle and Arie. AE made their own undergarment brand, and now they sell out of both Arie stores and regular AE stores, and make a killing on their PJ's, Bras, and Undies. I think they should pronounce it "Jilly" though instead of "Gilly" Still could spell it with a G, but pronounce it J. Sounds better that way in my opinion. |

the houston galleria is getting a gilly hicks and a ruehl. they recently put up a wall in front of the abercrombie kids store with its marketing on the outside saying summer 2008. They also put up a huge gray wall in front of the two previous tenants's spaces to the right (the original levi's store and a texas territories souveniors or some shit like that) which were both very large spaces. our RM says they're remodeling and incresing the size of the kids store and hollister and put in a gilly hicks and ruehl in the spaces to the right.
so if anyone goes to the houston galleria you'll see hollister, abercromber kids, gilly hicks, and ruehl all in a row. the a&F is a across the hall and down further. |
