I think the Hamilton is ridiculously thin.
The material is soft yes but it is not substantial, nor is the lining. The construction is excellent (bar-tacks, double-needle stitching, etc.) but the overall warmth and elements-protection is about a 2 on a scale of 1-10.

I think the Hamilton is meant to be more of a fall jacket instead of for the winter. Its design is sort of like Ruehl's Bruno (spring jacket).

Yes.

He's just saying that jacket also isn't that warm so it's good for fall too.

i own both - tshirt is the most comfortable thing in the world and the zip-up is also really nice. a little thin but not flimsy by any means.
